Profile |
|
The Daytona based 365 GTC/4 was introduced by ferrari in 1971 as a 2+2 seat GT sibling to the legendary roadster.
The Daytona's 4.4litre V12 was carried over, but with a slightly reduced power output of 340bhp (but only 320bhp in the USA). Top speed was around 163mph (the optomistic speedo read to 186mph), while 0-60mph was a liesurely 6.7 seconds.
The elegant Pininfarina bodywork was constructed of steel and aluminium, while the standard half leather/tartan interior could be optionally upgraded to full leather. Despite being marketed as a 2+2, the rear seats were almost unusable, and so can really be thought of as a 2-seater with extra rear luggage space!
In 1972, the GTC/4 retailed at considerably more than it's Daytona sibling, which is now ironically worth many times as much.
