The 2001 Twenty Twenty concept by Italdesign was Aston Martin's first open topped car and their vision of what could be produced in the year 2020.
This fully working concept was based on the DB7 Vantage, with it's 6-litre V12 uprated to 500hp.
The car was styled by Italdesign and constructed of plastic and carbon fibre, with a visible aluminium exoskeleton - fairly exotic materials back in 2001. The 2 seat layout had the potential to be converted to a 2+2.
The car was first displayed at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, with it's UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed some 4 years later.
The Twenty twenty was never considered for production, being somewhat at odds with Aston Martin's design direction at the time.
The car is apparently still owned by Italdesign in Italy.
