2020 saw the VW group's Lamborghini Urus joined by Audi's take on the super-SUV, the Q8 RS - now officially the fastest SUV around the fabled Nurburgring.
The RS is based on the Q8 SUV, but boasts a 600bhp twin-turbo V8 (as used in the RS7), catapulting the 2.5 ton giant from 0-60mph in just 3.6 seconds. Top speed is a more sedate 155mph (or 190mph with the optional dynamic package).
Despite appearing to be the antithesis of green transport, the Q8 actually features cylinder deactivation technology and a 'mild-hybrid' system, to maximize fuel consumption.
Massive 22 inch alloys are standard (with the option of 23 inch!) but otherwise there is little to distinguish it from the Q8S.
Priced at around £100k, the RS will compete with the likes of the Cayenne and the Range Rover SVR in todays manic SUV market.
