Maserati's first launch under new parent company Citroen was the sleek Indy 2+2 Coupe of 1969.
Named after Maserati's victory at the Indy 500, the car was powered initially by a 4.2L V8, later increasing to 4.7L, before the 4.9L was introduced in 1971. With up to 320hp, the Indy was good for 165mph.
The sensual Vignale designed bodywork disguised a generously sized interior. Although classed as a 2+2, the Indy accomodated four adults with generous luggage space. Later models benefitted from 15 inch Borrani alloys, air conditioning and parent company Citroen's innovative braking system.
As with many other classics in the current market, prices of the Indy have rapidly increased, with models fetching from £50k to well over £100k for pristine examples.
