Profile |
|
The second generation of the popular Continental GT arrived in 2011, with the GT Speed coupe arriving the following year, joined by a convertible in 2013.
The GT Speed is powered by Bentley's 6 litre twin-turbo W12 engine - the V8 is not an option on this model. Power jumps to 616bhp while torque is a stump pulling 590 lbft (626bhp and 605 lbft from 2014, 633bhp and 620 lbft from 2016), resulting in a 0-60mph time of under 4 seconds and a 205mph+ maximum speed. Handling is impressive for such a heavy vehicle, but definitely GT not sports car. The Speed is distiguished from 'lesser' GTs by a bespoke difuser and pop-up rear spoiler, along with enormous 21 inch alloy wheels. The sleeker lines are a definite improvment over the previous generation.
Prices start at £168k in the UK, for what is one of the most desirable GTs on the market.
