Profile |
|
The legendary E-Type was launched to universal acclaim at the 1961 Geneva motor show offering sensational 150mph performance at a reasonable price. The Coupe and Convertible's gorgeous lines were penned by aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, making this the first Jaguar not personally designed by founder William Lyons.
1965 saw capacity increase to 4.2 litres, along with servo assisted brakes and an all synchro gearbox, followed in 1966 by the high rooflined 2+2 coupe. The Mark II was launched in 1968 featuring more uprated brakes and optional automatic gearbox and power steering.
